Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my carpet cleaned?
Answer: One to two times per year is recommended. This helps keep pollutants out of your home. The longer dirt is left on the carpet the greater risk there is of someone walking on it and tracking it throughout the home. This can create a sandpaper effect that will cause premature wear of carpet fibers.

How long will it take for the carpet to dry?
Answer: 4-6 hours depending on the humidity level.

Is the carpet cleaning solution you use safe for my children and pets?
Answer: Yes! Midwest uses only the most up to date products to insure a clean and safe environment.

How long before I can walk on the carpet?
Answer: We recommend staying off of the carpet until it is almost dry. When the fibers are the least bit damp they could matt down from the pressure of walking on them.

What if stains reappear?
Answer: If a stain reappears within two weeks of cleaning Midwest will be more than happy to come back and do whatever it takes to remove the stain.

What do I need to do prior to the technicians arrival?
Answer: Move all plants, pictures and small breakables.

Do you move furniture?
Answer: We move most furniture including couches and cleared off end tables. This does not include electronics, china cabinets, beds or bookcases.

Can carpet be restored after a flood?
Answer: Most carpet can be restored after a flood. Sometimes padding may need to be replaced.

Do you have anything to take care of odor?
Answer: Our technicians are well trained in this area. We have a chemical called Super Odor Eliminator. This is a living enzyme treatment that is used to help prevent mildew and bacteria. We also have carpet fresheners as well.

What cleaning process do you use?
Answer: We use truck-mount steam cleaning where ever possible. For those out of the reach areas (mostly in high rise apartments) we would use our high pressure portables to insure the most efficient cleaning.
